Weather Policy: Watch for Cancellations

Weather Cancellation Policy

For Den or Pack events at the church, if school is cancelled, Pack 3017 will usually cancel as well. Check the website, Facebook, text message and emails for announcements.

For Events outside of the Church, we will only cancel in the case of impending dangerous weather such as tornado, lighting or very severe winter storms. Generally, if our host site still remains open and the activity is still possible, we will hold our event. If the weather is too poor for an outdoor event, but still Ok for an indoor meeting, we will hold a Den Meeting at the church instead and postpone the outing, if possible, to the following week.

Please know that the decision to cancel an event is a difficult one. There is a lot of planning that goes into each event. Also, it is very difficult to get word out to all our members when plans change at the last minute. As always, if you do not feel comfortable or safe due to the weather, feel free to skip the meeting or outing. Nothing the Pack does is required and we do not want to put anyone in danger. Everyone has different abilities, locations and comfort levels with the always unpredictable weather. It is our policy that these decisions are best left to the individuals.

Feel free to contact your Den leader or Pack leader, if unsure.
